ROMANS 15:5-6 “Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus: That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

KEYWORD: Taking time to understand by the leading of the Holy Spirit before making incorrect assumptions or judgement is key.

All through the Scriptures, we see that our God is a God of patience, especially in His dealings with the people of Israel. While His nature of patience is undeniable, it doesn’t give us the liberty to test it beyond limits. We are not called to push God or provoke Him through our thoughts, words, or actions. Instead, we are called to emulate His character and diligently walk in the pattern He has set before us. The opening scripture encourages us to be like-minded towards one another, according to Christ Jesus. This means our emotions should not dictate how we deal with or relate to others.

The foundation for working with one another lies in the example Jesus set in how He treated His disciples. We are called to reflect this same attitude in our relationships and dealings with others. Only then will God’s glory be evident through our lives. He is patient, and He calls us to exhibit the same patience. Taking time to understand by the leading of the Holy Spirit before making incorrect assumptions or judgement is key. Through the Spirit’s help, we can work together with unity of mind and spirit as members of the body of Christ. However, this requires our complete surrender and willingness to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit.

As we follow, we will also show forth the bearing and new identity we have in God as kings and priests. He chose us so that we might be holy and blameless before Him. He has blessed us with all spiritual blessings, so we need not struggle in this path of living to please Him daily. What is keeping you from living as God desires? Set it aside and allow the knowledge of how Christ lived to envelop you so that you will be guided in patience and love always. Jesus remains ever as our light and beacon, directing us to the path of brightness and glory. Hallelujah!!

PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, I give myself to You today and emulate all that the Holy Spirit teaches me. I will live as Jesus lived with Your grace that is made available to me in Jesus’ name. Amen.

FURTHER STUDY:
EPHESIANS 1:3-4 (ESV)
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him.”
REVELATION 1:5-6
“And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.”
