HEBREWS 13:20–21 “Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.”
KEYWORD: The Holy does not only reveal God’s purpose; He supplies the strength, the patience, and the willingness to embrace it.
The reality that we were created to live in the exact manner God preordained for us may feel overwhelming to many believers, both young and old alike. To know that every plan, every desire, and every ambition must be brought before God’s scrutiny for approval or rejection is not something the natural man can easily accept. Suddenly, a knowing is awakened in your spirit that you no longer belong to yourself; you cannot live for yourself but for the One who willingly laid down His life for you on the cross.
But here is the beautiful truth: Jesus’ work did not end at the cross. His sacrifice was the doorway; His resurrection sealed our victory, but His love did not leave us to figure out the journey alone. He sent the Holy Spirit to continue the work inside us, transforming us daily, and perfecting us in the very things that please God. This is exactly what the writer of Hebrews prayed in our opening scripture.
Understand this: only the Holy Spirit can make you truly know and accept God’s will. He does not only reveal God’s purpose; He supplies the strength, the patience, and the willingness to embrace it. If you attempt to walk in God’s will with your mind alone, you will grow weary, frustrated, or even give up along the way. But when the Spirit works in you, there is a supernatural energy that flows. He births in you an acceptance that is deeper than logic and a willingness that carries you beyond natural strength.
This is why the Scriptures declare, “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure” (Philippians 2:13). It is one thing to desire to do God’s will, but it is another to do it with joy, excellence, and endurance. The secret is not in striving harder; it is in yielding deeper. It is in drawing from His grace, in depending on His Spirit, and in allowing His power to work through you until obedience becomes your delight.
So, if you have been struggling with God’s plan for your life this year, whether it be a call, an instruction, or a divine assignment, don’t despair. Don’t let your weakness discourage you. Instead, turn to Him in prayer and yield to His Spirit. Trust Him to work mightily in you, producing both the desire and the ability to follow through until the very end. Shalom!
PRAYER:
Lord, I yield my heart and plans to You. Let Your Holy Spirit work in me to both will and do of Your good pleasure. Help me to embrace Your will with joy and follow it through with strength and grace. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
