MY BELOVED LORD

SONGS OF SOLOMON 5:10–12 “My beloved is white and ruddy, the chiefest among ten thousand. His head is as the most fine gold, his locks are bushy, and black as a raven. His eyes are as the eyes of doves by the rivers of waters, washed with milk, and fitly set.”

KEYWORD: Your personal revelation of the Lord is reflected in how you perceive and speak of Him.

The language of the Song of Songs reveals the depth of affection, beauty, and excellence found in the Beloved. It is a poetic expression that points to the surpassing greatness of the Lord in the eyes of the one who has encountered Him Your personal revelation of the Lord is reflected in how you perceive and speak of Him. What you experience in worship, in prayer, and in the study of the Word all come together to shape the image of God that is formed within your heart.
Even though God is not seen physically, His Word in Scripture, and His presence revealed in moments of prayer and worship, unveil His true nature in ways that physical appearance could never capture. How many times have we misjudged people by outward appearance, only to later discover a different heart beneath the surface. A person may appear kind, gentle, or sincere outwardly, yet carry something entirely different within.

In the same way, many form an incomplete understanding of God because they have not truly encountered Him personally through His Word and His Spirit. Now I ask you, what revelation of God do you carry within you? How deeply have you come to know Him? Can you speak of Him freely and confidently because you have taken time to know Him in truth?

Do you know that one of the most powerful ways to communicate Jesus to others is not only through doctrine, but through a living revelation of who He is as a loving and present Saviour? This becomes natural when He has become real to you. The question is, Has He become real to you? Is He beautiful in your perception, not by physical description, but in the excellence of His nature revealed in your heart? Do you behold Him with joy when you read His Word or enter into worship and fellowship?

Are you glad to introduce Him to others, or do you find yourself reserved or hesitant? That hesitancy often reveals the need for deeper fellowship and greater intimacy with Him. For as you grow in the knowledge of the Lord, your confidence in Him increases. The Lord is not only your God, He is also your Beloved. But until you give Him your attention, your heart, and your time, you may never fully experience the beauty of that relationship. Glory to God!

PRAYER:
My beautiful Lord, as I behold You, my heart is strengthened and filled with joy. Knowing You is the greatest desire of my life. Draw me deeper into intimate fellowship with You. Help me never to take for granted who You are to me, and make me a vessel that reveals You to others in love and truth. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
