PROVERBS 27:4 “Wrath is cruel, and anger is outrageous; but who is able to stand before envy?”

KEYWORD: Where there is envy, the heart becomes an open door.

Life, as God assured us in John 10:10, was meant to be lived and enjoyed abundantly. Yet, when we hear the word abundance, we must understand that it is not a license to live recklessly or indulge in activities that gratify only the senses. God’s plan for us is wholesome, joyful, purposeful living, a life where we walk in the fullness of glory He has prepared for His children.
But the Lord also knows that certain attitudes can steal from that abundant life. One major thief is anger, not a passing irritation, but habitual, ongoing anger. This is a state where everything a person hears or sees seems like a personal attack. Such a person is offended by the smallest error, the slightest delay, and the mildest misunderstanding. Nothing satisfies him. Everyone around him is suspicious or wrong.
Words spoken with love, honesty, and pure motives are immediately judged through a negative filter, and suspicion replaces trust. This state of constant anger is not natural. And the Bible reveals to us the root that fuels it. Wrath may flare up for a moment, anger may last for a season, but envy fuels both into a lifestyle. Where there is envy, the heart becomes an open door. A demonic influence begins to misinterpret words, actions, and gestures. Decisions are made, not from discernment, but from insecurity and inner torment. Life becomes a battle, relationships become exhausting, and joy becomes scarce.
Is this where you have found yourself? Do you wonder how you got here? The blessed news is: God has not given up on you. He knows how to heal the wounded places. If you will ask Him today, His help is sure and His mercy is abundant. He will quiet the storm, cleanse the envy, and restore your peace. Anger is not life.
Jesus is life. Glory to God!

DAILY CONFESSION:
I refuse the spirit of anger and envy. I choose the life of God.
My heart is filled with peace, patience and love. I walk in understanding and self-control. I enjoy the abundant life Christ has given me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
