CAN GOD BE YOUR WITNESS? (I)

ROMANS 9:1 “I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost.”

KEYWORD: When God Himself becomes your witness, your words will not only be trusted but also empowered with divine authority. Glory to God!

It is not every day you meet people who are bold enough to call upon God as a witness to the words they speak. Why? Because many have become so accustomed to lying that it comes as naturally as breathing. The art of twisting words, bending facts, and slyly talking one’s way out of difficult situations has become a common craft in today’s world. In fact, in many places, people even celebrate the cunning ability to “outsmart” others with clever lies. Truth, on the other hand, is often despised, ridiculed, and treated as weakness.

The reason is clear: the moral standard of our generation has fallen so low that a person’s words are no longer trusted. Think about a law court: eyewitness accounts alone may not even be sufficient to convict or acquit someone unless backed by hard, undeniable evidence. We live in a world where words, once considered a bond, now carry little to no weight. Yet, in the midst of this decline, how refreshing it is to encounter men and women who still hold themselves to the eternal standard of truth, the very standard by which God Himself lives.

Even more glorious is when your life consistently proves the integrity of your words. When your “yes” remains “yes”, and your “no” remains “no”, you shine as one whose character is aligned with Christ. Over time, such a testimony cannot be hidden; both God and men will acknowledge you as one who speaks truth without guile.
But the real question is this: can God Himself bear witness with your conscience that you speak the truth always? Can heaven affirm your words as being untainted by falsehood? This is not an impossible life. It is the life God calls us into: a life where our tongues are sanctified, where our words become reliable, and where our speech carries the weight of truth because it is rooted in Christ.
If you are willing to break free from the pressure of pleasing men with lies and half-truths, you will begin to live for the One whose approval truly matters. And when God Himself becomes your witness, your words will not only be trusted but also be empowered with divine authority. Glory to God!

PRAYER:
Dear Lord, make me a vessel of truth in a world filled with deceit. Help me to speak words that align with Your Spirit, words that bear witness in Heaven and on earth. May my life reflect integrity, and may my lips never be given to lies, but to truth alone. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
