JEALOUS FOR YOUR FATHER’S HOUSE

PSALMS 69:9 “For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up; and the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me.”

KEYWORD: As Jesus was consumed with holy passion for His Father’s house, cleansing it, defending it, and honouring it, so must we.

How many of us today can truly say that we are consumed with zeal for the Lord’s house? That His affairs are our top priority, not just in word, but in action? Do we feel deeply burdened to see His kingdom grow, expand, and flourish? Or have we become passive observers, only moved when it’s convenient or trendy?

The Psalmist shows us what it means to be jealous for God’s house: so passionate, so protective, that it consumes you. It stirs a righteous anger when people speak lightly or mock the things of God. But sadly, many today remain silent in the face of mockery, treating it as though it doesn’t matter. Yet we must understand: if you truly love the Father, you will not stand idly by while others trample upon His name or ridicule His work.
Our lives have been entrusted into His care. He is our source, our strength, our very breath. If He means that much to us, then our commitment to His house should reflect it. As Jesus was consumed with holy passion for His Father’s house, cleansing it, defending it, and honouring it, so must we. Let the Word of God guide your priorities. Let love for the Lord drive your decisions and commitments.

And above all, don’t ever let anyone convince you that service in God’s house is not worth your time. It is worth more than silver and gold. It is an eternal investment that brings unquantifiable rewards. Shalom!

PRAYER:
Lord, I declare today that Your house and Your kingdom matter most to me. Let zeal for Your work consume my heart afresh. Help me to speak up boldly and defend Your name. May my time, energy, and resources continually reflect my love for You in Jesus’ name. Amen.
