EXODUS 3:4-5 “And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I. And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.”

KEYWORD: Our refusal to seek can lead to delays, not just for us but for many connected to us.

Moses noticed something strange—that the bush was burning yet not consumed. And he made the conscious decision to turn aside and investigate. And what happened next? The Bible says when the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, then God called out to him. Meaning, the move of God, His voice, His direction, and His instruction were dependent on Moses’ response to that divine sign. If he had ignored it or walked away, there may never have been that moment of encounter that shifted not just his life but the destiny of a nation.

God had been waiting for Moses to seek. That single decision to turn aside was the moment heaven responded. Many times, the dimension of God we are crying out for, the next level we desperately desire, and the open door or revelation we seek are tied to our willingness to investigate what seems odd, uncomfortable, or beyond logic. Sometimes, the fire that doesn’t consume is not a sign of destruction but of divine presence calling your attention.

When you face a situation that is confusing, hard, stretching, or unfamiliar, pause. Ask the Lord, “Is this You trying to get my attention?” Don’t be quick to run. Don’t be too hasty to draw conclusions. Like Moses, turn aside to see, and you may just unlock the voice and instruction that will deliver a generation.

If Moses had turned away, who knows how long Israel might have remained in bondage? Our refusal to seek can lead to delays, not just for us but for many connected to us. This year, let your steps be intentional. Let your discernment be sharp. Let your pursuit of truth be relentless. For in that decision to turn aside, your divine encounter awaits. Glory to God!

PRAYER:
Holy Spirit, I ask that You help me be a diligent seeker of truth this year. Let me not overlook the divine signs You place before me. May I turn aside when You call and respond with open ears and a willing heart, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
