SURE AND STEADFAST

HEBREWS 6:19 “Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which entereth into that within the veil.”

KEYWORD: Jesus is your sure foundation, and your soul must be anchored in His Word this year.

What is an anchor? (Nautical definition) A tool used to moor a vessel to the bottom of a sea or river to resist movement. Secondly, an anchor can also be any instrument serving a similar purpose, such as an arrangement of timber to hold a dam fast, a device to secure the end of a bridge cable, or a tool in metalworking to hold a mold in place.
Have you noticed that every anchor that truly holds has a cross? In fact, if you study anchors, you’ll find that the cross shape was originally used as a Christian symbol of surety and steadfastness. At the same time, the design of anchors allows a ship to remain sure and steadfast in the midst of storms. When the anchor grips a solid rock, it stabilizes the ship and prevents it from drifting.
We see in Matthew 7:24 “Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock.” Jesus is your sure foundation, and your soul must be anchored in His Word this year. When you do, your “ship of life” will be stabilized. Being anchored does not mean storms or challenges will not come, of course they will. But like a properly anchored ship, you will remain unmovable and untouchable, because the hope of your anchor is Jesus Christ, the solid rock. Your confidence in His Word is what makes the difference. Hallelujah!

PRAYER:
Dear heavenly Father, thank You for being the Rock of my salvation, my sure foundation. I place my hope fully in You and Your Word, knowing that the storms of this year are opportunities for my promotion and lifting. Amen.
