PASTOR MARTINS OMONUA
OPENING SCRIPTURE: ACTS 7:2-3
“And he said, Men, brethren, and fathers, hearken; The God of glory appeared unto our father Abraham, when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Charran, And said unto him, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and come into the land which I shall shew thee.”
KEYWORD: No matter how grand, simple, or seemingly safe your own plans may be, God can provide far more when you willingly embrace His will.
We continue from where we left off in yesterday’s devotional. It is crucial to understand why the life God chooses for you is one you ought to embrace and follow to the very end. Before purchasing a new item, we often take time to read reviews from those who have used it. Their testimonies can either convince us to proceed with the purchase or discourage us from making it. Similarly, when urged to accept the life God has chosen for you, the best place to turn for validation is the scriptures, where you will find the testimonies of those who have walked with Him.
The Bible does not give us just one example but presents countless individuals who chose to follow the path God set before them. Abraham, like many others, never had cause to regret his decision. What some might have considered a delay in his journey- his long wait for a child was not a delay at all. It was simply that he had not yet fully grasped what God was saying or how to walk into his miracle. The moment he understood and began giving glory to God, Sarah conceived, and within the appointed time for childbirth, just as God had said—the promise was fulfilled. In that moment, Abraham realised he had made no mistake in following God. He saw that the One who spoke to him was indeed the God who calls things that are not as though they were and brings His promises to pass.
What kind of life do you desire for yourself? No matter how grand, simple, or seemingly safe your own plans may be, God can provide far more when you willingly embrace His will. The benefits of walking in His chosen path for you are beyond compare—a life filled with joy, deep friendship with the Father, divine influence that impacts generations, and a legacy that stands the test of time. Take time to fellowship with the Lord this season and seek to know His plans for you if you have yet to discover them. Walk in His path with full trust, knowing that His will for you is good, not evil, and that He intends to give you a glorious and expected end. Hallelujah!
PRAYER:
Father, I recognise and accept that the life You choose for me is the one to embrace. I renounce every act of self-will that has only brought me pain and shame. Today, I receive Your grace and accept the new life You offer me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

ROMANS 4:17
“As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations, before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.”
GENESIS 17:5-6
“Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee. And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee.”
