1 Peter 3:19-20 (KJV)“By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison; Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.”
KEYWORD: True love for the world compels us to appeal to all people, urging them to accept Jesus’ free gift of salvation.
Many believe that God’s plan of salvation was limited to those who lived from Jesus’ time until now, but the opening scripture reveals otherwise. When Jesus died and descended into the lower parts of the earth, He preached to the spirits in prison, including those who had lived before His earthly ministry. This act confirms that both those under the law and those saved by grace were given an opportunity to hear the gospel and choose to accept or reject it.
God has never forced Himself on humanity, yet He continually demonstrates His love, showing us the stark contrast between the eternal life He offers and the condemnation that awaits those who reject Him. It has never been His will to see mankind—whom He created in His own image—perish in hell. That is why He has put in place every necessary measure to redeem humanity and offer them the chance to walk in the light of His truth forever.
Jesus’ ministry transcends time, impacting the past, present, and future, proving that He alone is the only remedy for humanity. Without Him, there is no salvation and no true life worth living. No religion, philosophy, or false god can provide the peace, hope, and eternal security that Jesus gives.
Therefore, True love for the world compels us to appeal to all people, urging them to accept Jesus’ free gift of salvation. Reject every false promise of peace and hope that comes from dead ideologies. Do not believe the lies of Satan, who seeks to keep people in ignorance until it is too late. Today is the day of salvation! Come with boldness and gladness into God’s marvelous kingdom. Glory to God!
PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, we come before You today lifting up the lost and those seeking hope. We pray that their hearts are led to You by Your precious Holy Spirit and that they accept Your forgiveness given through Christ Jesus. Amen.
