NUMBERS 23:1-3 “And Balaam said unto Balak, Build me here seven altars, and prepare me here seven oxen and seven rams. And Balak did as Balaam had spoken; and Balak and Balaam offered on every altar a bullock and a ram. And Balaam said unto Balak, Stand by thy burnt offering, and I will go: peradventure the LORD will come to meet me: and whatsoever he sheweth me I will tell thee. And he went to an high place.”
KEYWORD: Obedience and faith-filled declarations are all like spiritual altars that invite divine intervention and blessings.
Following our study yesterday, we now see a more vivid picture of how potent the spiritual realm is. We observe the altars being erected, sacrifices offered, blood poured out, and covenants invoked. These are not mere rituals; they are spiritual transactions with real, tangible impact in the physical realm. What is done in the unseen realm often manifests in the seen realm.
This understanding should not instill fear but reverent awareness. As Christians, we are never alone. The power of evil exists, but the power of God surpasses all. Just as Balak attempted to manipulate the spiritual realm to harm Israel, we too encounter schemes, plots, and spiritual attacks that aim to derail our progress.
But here’s the beautiful truth: good can also be achieved through the spiritual realm. Altars can be raised to the glory of God. Prayers, worship, acts of obedience, and faith-filled declarations are all like spiritual altars that invite divine intervention and blessings. The Israelites were preserved from Balak’s intent because they were under the covenant of God, a covenant faithfully maintained by sacrifices, obedience, and devotion over generations.
Today, our spiritual altars may not involve the blood of bulls and rams, but they exist in the acts we offer to God:
• Our prayers that intercede for families, communities, and nations.
• Our service in love, mercy, and faithfulness to God’s work.
• Our giving, offerings, and generosity done to honour Him.
• Our soul-winning and evangelism, which advances the kingdom of God.
Each of these spiritual sacrifices evokes God’s favour, protection, and intervention in our lives. They are potent and impactful; they speak on our behalf in the spiritual realm even when the enemy plots against us. As you continue in obedience today, let your spiritual altars be vibrant and alive. Stand firm in your covenant with the Lord. Remember, He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. Be deliberate, intentional, and consistent in the things that please God. The blessings of heaven will manifest in your life as surely as day follows night. Glory to God!
CONFESSION:
I declare that I am spiritually alert and covered by the blood of Jesus.
I build spiritual altars daily with my prayers, service, and offerings of obedience.
The enemy has no power over me or my family. I am preserved, protected, and blessed because I stand in covenant with the Lord. Every sacrifice of love and obedience I offer is powerful and effective, bringing favor, divine intervention, and prosperity into my life. Amen.
