THE SURE HOUSE OF THE LORD (I)

1 SAMUEL 2:35 “And I will raise me up a faithful priest, that shall do according to that which is in mine heart and in my mind: and I will build him a sure house; and he shall walk before mine anointed for ever.”

KEYWORD: In fulfilling His work, God insists on a pattern. His house must be established in holiness, righteousness, honour, and obedience.

God is not careless about His purposes, neither is He indifferent about the people He selects to fulfil them. His eyes are upon His creation, but even more so upon those whom He has predestined for divine assignments. He watches, He guides, and He leads, if only they are willing to ask for help and receive guidance from Him. In fulfilling His work, God insists on a pattern. His house must be established in holiness, righteousness, honour, and obedience. This is how His house becomes “sure,” stable, unshakeable, and enduring.
However, when the one He originally chose becomes careless, passive, disobedient, or unwilling to change, God does not abandon His work. His plans never fail because of men. He will raise another who is willing to reverence Him, follow His voice, and carry out His assignment with urgency and zeal.
In our opening scripture, Eli was a priest descended from Aaron, yet he failed at a crucial duty; he did not restrain his sons. Their behaviour defiled the sacred things of the Lord, and Eli’s passiveness became a danger to the future of God’s house. So God chose a young boy, Samuel, and began to mould him into a faithful priest, one who would do what was in God’s heart and mind. This is still God’s expectation today. We are kings and priests unto God through Christ Jesus. Faithfulness is not optional. God-building a sure house begins with men and women whose hearts long to please Him.
Jesus Himself is the perfect example. He came with one purpose: to do the Father’s will. Because of that, God made Him a faithful High Priest and established an everlasting house through Him. The question now comes to you: will you be a priest after God’s heart? Will you allow Him to build in you a sure house, one that stands strong, that generations after you will benefit from? It is time to align your heart with God’s mind. It is time to be God’s own priest. Glory to God!
PRAYER:
Father, I thank You for calling me to serve Your purpose in my generation. I yield my heart to You. Teach me to walk in righteousness, holiness, and obedience. Build in me a sure house that stands strong forever. Let my life bring honour to Your name. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
