JOHN 6:19-21 “So when they had rowed about five and twenty or thirty furlongs, they see Jesus walking on the sea, and drawing nigh unto the ship: and they were afraid. But he saith unto them, It is I; be not afraid. Then they willingly received him into the ship: and immediately the ship was at the land whither they went.”
KEYWORD: Fellowshipping with God is necessary to draw upon us that anointing that will cause us to transcend time and distance with ease.
We began yesterday to see what the anointing of God upon our lives could produce in and around us. The speed Elijah enjoyed in the Old Testament was not a singular event. When we come to the New Testament, as seen in the opening scripture, Jesus also enjoyed speed borne of the anointing upon Him. It has been made clear that fellowshipping with God is necessary to draw upon us that anointing that will cause us to transcend time and distance with ease. In Jesus’ case, He had just ministered to the crowd and then fed them.
The feeding of the five thousand took place at this time; afterwards Jesus sent His disciples on ahead of Him, and the Bible records that He went up to the mountain to pray. He knew that time apart or a separation to be with His Father was of necessity to keep Him grounded. The miracle that had just taken place (feeding of the five thousand) was something that God needed to be thanked for. This acknowledgment of God also caused the anointing upon His life to increase such that when He came down from the mountain, His goal was to cross the sea to the other side, and nothing would be allowed to stop Him.
Being full of the atmosphere that comes from basking in God’s presence, He didn’t consider that there was no boat to convey Him to the other side. He simply stepped onto the sea and began walking. He moved with such speed that He even overtook the boat of His disciples, who had set out earlier. Their boat was just partway through the journey to the other side, but the scriptures record that the moment Jesus set foot in that boat, it landed immediately on the other side. That is what the anointing of speed can indeed produce for you when you are yielded fully to the Holy Spirit. You will no longer struggle in your assignment or any area of your life because the anointing of God upon your life will always make a difference. Glory to God!
PRAYER:
Dear Father, truly, fellowship with You is what I need this season. I, therefore, yield myself that I might be filled with all of Your fullness in the name of Jesus and move quickly by your Holy Spirit, in Jesus name. Amen.
FURTHER STUDY:
MATTHEW 14: 22-23
“And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away. And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.”
ISAIAH 10:27
“And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.”
