YOUR SERVICE TO THE GOSPEL

THURSDAY, MAY 15

PHILIPPIANS 2:22 “But ye know the proof of him, that, as a son with the father, he hath served with me in the gospel.”

KEYWORD: If your service doesn’t cause others to see God in you, then it has not yet reached its full expression.

How true and sincere is your service to the gospel? If your service were to be measured, would the same be said of you as Apostle Paul said of Timothy in our opening scripture, or would it be a different report entirely? How often do we remind ourselves that God desires a service that is commendable—one so evident that even dissenters cannot deny it? What proof exists in your life that your service is not a burden or concern but rather a blessing to those around you? It is important that you examine yourself today and ask these vital questions.

Your service to the gospel is something that God watches closely and takes seriously. We were created for His praise and glory, and in serving Him, we are called to manifest a holy and faithful attitude. Jesus revealed His sonship to the Father wherever He went, drawing many to the realisation that He was the express image of His Father. If your service doesn’t cause others to see God in you, then it has not yet reached its full expression.

The gospel is powerful, and through our service, we unveil God’s truth, His light, His personality, and His hope to a world that is lost and broken. When we serve God with a pure conscience, we are no longer swayed by the opinions of others. Instead, we become focused solely on pleasing the Lord and making a tangible difference in the lives of those He brings our way.
When we serve sincerely, God knows He can entrust His children, i.e., His flock, into our care. He knows we will stand, just as sons do, in His stead, faithfully revealing who He truly is. Then, even those who once doubted will come to know the reality of God through our lives. Today, God is seeking the proof of your service. An evidence that will qualify you for greater responsibility and more souls. Let your service be worthy. Let it be true. Let it be pure and sanctified before the Lord, and watch how God will exalt you before all. Glory to God!

CONFESSION:
Dear Father, today we give ourselves to sincere and faithful service to You and the gospel. We choose not to look to ourselves but to focus on pleasing You. May the proof of our service be a loud and undeniable testimony of Your greatness and goodness, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
