PSALM 147:15 “He sendeth forth his commandment upon earth: his word runneth very swiftly.”
KEYWORD: When God sends His word, it is never casual. It is never empty. It is never powerless.
In our world today, many of us are lovers of sports. We watch as competitors run, jump, throw, and push themselves to the limits of strength and speed. We cheer, we shout, and we stand to our feet when the race begins and when it ends. And when our favorite athlete wins, we celebrate because we feel the joy of victory with them. But the psalmist draws our attention to something far more fascinating and powerful: the word of God also runs, and it runs swiftly.
It does not crawl. It does not drag behind. It does not struggle to complete its assignment. It runs. Why does the word of God “run swiftly”? Because every word God sends is sent to win. It is sent with purpose, intention, and precision. His word carries answers, solutions, deliverance, and instruction. It cannot afford delay because destinies depend on it. Healing depends on it. Miracles depend on it. The hope of those who trust Him rests upon it. When God sends His word, it is never casual. It is never empty. It is never powerless.
He sends forth His commandment with authority, and it goes quickly to accomplish exactly what He intended. Isaiah 55:11 confirms it: “So shall my word be… it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” There is speed in God’s word. From the moment it leaves His mouth, it begins to travel with divine accuracy until it finds the person, situation, or environment assigned to it. And when it arrives, it does not arrive empty-handed. It comes with grace, healing, wisdom, restoration, direction, comfort, and power. The word knows its mission, and it never fails.
If you have not seen the word of God this way before, now is the time to understand it. God’s word is not slow. It is not late. It is not uncertain. It runs swiftly and establishes what God has said. Fix your faith on the word. Expect it. Believe it. Rejoice in it. And soon, you will see its swift performance in your life. Glory to God!
CONFESSION:
The word of God runs swiftly for me. Every promise spoken over my life is established with speed. I believe the word, I speak the word, and I receive the word. There is no delay in my life because God has sent His commandment concerning me. I walk in the fulfilment of His word today and always.
