THE FEAR THAT SHOULD NEVER BE IN YOU

ISAIAH 51:12 “I, even I, am he that comforteth you: who art thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man that shall die, and of the son of man which shall be made as grass;”

KEYWORD: God has placed His Word in your mouth, and it is meant to be spoken daily.

Many of us were once students, or still are, and we understand what it means to study a subject or topic for a term or semester. Yet, a few semesters later, we may need to revisit that topic to refresh our memory and perform confidently. The same principle applies to the study of Scripture. Reading a book once or covering a topic does not mean it cannot be revisited. In fact, it is vital to revisit it to remember clearly who you are in Christ Jesus.
God declares in the opening scripture that He is our Comforter, and then He asks why, despite this knowledge, we still fear mere men who can be snuffed out in an instant. Your understanding of God should shape your responses. Knowing His personality allows you to stand firm and act boldly, without being intimidated. Understanding the power of His Word prevents trembling when you are called to exercise faith and courage.
You must consciously embrace the truth that a person God takes time to comfort will never be abandoned. You are covered on every side. So when you encounter the unsaved, preach the gospel boldly. When you encounter the sick, lay hands for healing. When you meet the afflicted, command the demons to depart in Jesus’ name. God has placed His Word in your mouth, and it is meant to be spoken daily. Exercise discernment and strength, handling “strong meat” rather than milk alone. You are God’s own, and this knowledge should empower you to act confidently in His name. Shalom!

PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, thank You for always being my Comforter and Helper. Thank You for honoring the words I speak in faith and for removing fear from my heart. Fill me with Your perfect love so that I may walk boldly and confidently in Your will, in Jesus’ name.

FURTHER STUDY:
ISAIAH 51:13 “And forgettest the LORD thy maker, that hath stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth; and hast feared continually every day because of the fury of the oppressor, as if he were ready to destroy? and where is the fury of the oppressor?”
ISAIAH 51:15-16 “But I am the LORD thy God, that divided the sea, whose waves roared: The LORD of hosts is his name. And I have put my words in thy mouth, and I have covered thee in the shadow of mine hand, that I may plant the heavens, and lay the foundations of the earth, and say unto Zion, Thou art my people.”
