JOHN 16:13 “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.”
KEYWORD: The Holy Spirit is God’s greatest gift to humanity. He was given to teach us all things and to show us things to come.
For a long time, the Holy Spirit has remained misunderstood by many within the body of Christ, as many believers do not truly know Him or fully understand His role and ministry in their lives. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God Himself. He is not less than God the Father or God the Son. Though He is often referred to as the third Person of the Godhead, this speaks of distinction in person, not inferiority in nature or essence. He is fully God, co-equal and co-eternal with the Father and the Son. He is the Spirit of truth, sent to guide us into all truth, and He is the seal of our salvation, bearing witness within us that we belong to God. Through Him, we experience the life of God, receive divine guidance, and are continually transformed into the image of Christ.
The Holy Spirit is God’s greatest gift to humanity. He was given to teach us all things and to show us things to come. No believer can serve God faithfully and effectively without working with the Holy Spirit and surrendering to His leadership. He is the One who reveals Jesus to us and makes the realities of Christ known in our hearts. He is our Comforter sent from the Father. His presence within us produces grace, acceptance, and divine ability, enabling us to become all that God has called us to be. Through Him who dwells within us, we cry, “Abba, Father” (Galatians 4:6).
With the Holy Spirit in our lives, the things of God are no longer mysteries to us. In the book of Acts, when the Holy Spirit came upon the apostles, He was no longer a mystery to the early church. They received uncommon boldness and power. On the day of Pentecost alone, about three thousand people were saved through the preaching of Apostle Peter. The coming of the Holy Spirit granted believers access to God’s presence in a way that was not possible under the old covenant, where only the high priest could enter the Holy of Holies once a year.
The Bible records that Moses spoke with God “face to face.” This expression means that he spoke with God in close fellowship and direct communion, not literally face to face. Today, through the Holy Spirit, the Church enjoys an even greater privilege. The Spirit of God now tabernacles within us, making us living carriers of His presence. This means we can fellowship with God anywhere, at any time, and on any day. Hallelujah!
As we walk with the Holy Spirit, honor and durable riches become part of the order of our lives. He grants us wisdom to multiply, diversify, and properly manage the blessings God gives. The things that the Gentiles anxiously seek after begin to come to us, so that we do not struggle merely to survive. Instead, we live free from anxiety, being careful for nothing. Our primary concern becomes one thing: whether we are faithfully doing what God has called us to do. This is what it means to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, understanding that righteousness is not something we strive to achieve, but a nature we have been born into through Christ. This understanding changes our perspective and empowers us to become effective witnesses for Christ, which is the highest expression of the Christian life.
PRAYER:
Thank You, precious Father, for the gift of Your Holy Spirit in my life. With Him dwelling in me, I am filled with power for signs, wonders, and exploits. Through His work in me, I bear fruits of righteousness that endure and glorify Your name. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
