YOUR LIFE IS A WITNESS (I)

JOHN 12:17–19 “The people therefore that was with him when he called Lazarus out of his grave, and raised him from the dead, bare record. For this cause the people also met him, for that they heard that he had done this miracle. The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, Perceive ye how ye prevail nothing? behold, the world is gone after him.”

KEYWORD: When you choose to remain faithful and consistent in your walk with God, your life becomes a witness.

We have all heard or read about how Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead after four days. This miracle was one of the defining moments in His ministry, drawing the attention of many and stirring conversations throughout the land about the power of God at work through Him.
Before this event, the Pharisees had repeatedly confronted Jesus, questioning His authority and the source of His works. It was clear that they were witnessing something extraordinary, something that pointed to God but it also threatened the influence and position they held among the people.

They began to sense that the attention of the people was gradually shifting. This miracle: the raising of Lazarus became a public witness that could not be easily denied. Because of this, they realized they had to act quickly to resist His growing influence.
However, if we look carefully again at the opening scripture, we see something important. Many people were present when Lazarus was raised, and they bore record of what they saw. Yet not all responded in the same way. Some believed, while others remained doubtful or even opposed.

This shows us that seeing does not always produce believing, but it does leave a witness. For some people, what they see may seem difficult to accept at first. Others may take time to process what God is doing. Nevertheless, once they have seen it, a seed has been planted.
What am I trying to point out to you today? When you labor faithfully in what God has called you to do, people will see. They may not respond immediately with faith or agreement, but the evidence of God’s work cannot be hidden.

The real question then becomes: What will you continue to do regardless of their response? Will you remain consistent, even when affirmation is delayed? Even the Pharisees, though resistant, made a striking observation: “Perceive ye how ye prevail nothing? behold, the world is gone after him.” They recognized that something undeniable was happening.
When you choose to remain faithful and consistent in your walk with God, your life becomes a witness. Some will believe, others may resist, but God will use your obedience to reach hearts according to His will. This year, choose consistency over recognition, and faithfulness over immediate results. Those whose hearts are open will respond in time. Shalom!

PRAYER:
Father Lord, I thank You for reminding me that people see the works I do in Your name. Help me to remain patient and willing to persist regardless of the response I receive from the souls around me. Give me the grace to see beyond the present moment and to embrace the glorious future that awaits me, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

JOHN 12:20–23 “And there were certain Greeks among them that came up to worship at the feast: The same came therefore to Philip, which was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus. Philip cometh and telleth Andrew: and again Andrew and Philip tell Jesus. And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified.”

JOHN 12:26 “If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.”
