DEUTERONOMY 11:16-17 “Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them; And then the LORD’S wrath be kindled against you, and he shut up the heaven, that there be no rain, and that the land yield not her fruit; and lest ye perish quickly from off the good land which the LORD giveth you.”
KEYWORD: When you seek help from unholy places, you introduce into your life the influence of demons that come in and manipulate your life beyond imagination.
The world often advises having a plan B—multiple options or alternatives to fall back on when the main plan doesn’t work out. While this can be practical in certain situations, it should never apply when you, as a Christian, are dealing with the Holy Spirit. God should never be treated as just another option or a backup plan when all else fails. He desires to be your first and only choice in every decision. Compromising His standards or relegating Him to a secondary role will only lead to unnecessary pain—pain that could be avoided by choosing to follow Him sincerely and wholeheartedly.
Men of the world serve multiple gods, all to fulfil their lust and greed for temporal things. God calls us to serve and follow Him because in doing so we will have access to true life and prosperity. Do not let your heart be deceived into accepting help from sources that go in direct conflict with where God is clearly pointing you to. You are to guard your heart and desires by laying up His words in your heart as a treasure. Hold it securely before you as the scale with which you weigh every decision that you are to make. The Israelites sought other gods and in doing so brought curses and pains on themselves.

This access you give them allows them the right to afflict and then torment you in body and mind. This in and of itself is like a curse. Only the Lord can deliver you from such, so beware and take heed. Don’t close doors of favours God opened to you by becoming wise in your own eyes and refusing to keep following His plan. Be sensitive and allow God to be the only option available in your life. You will never be disappointed when your confidence is placed in Him and His Word alone. Glory to God!
PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, You are the only help I need. You are the Lord of my life, and I surrender totally to You to do with me as You will. Purge me of every thought that makes me seek ungodly help and other options when I have You in my life in Jesus’ name. Amen.
