PASTOR MARTINS OMONUA
EXODUS 33:16 “For wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found grace in thy sight? is it not in that thou goest with us? so shall we be separated, I and thy people, from all the people that are upon the face of the earth.”
KEYWORD: We must be deeply concerned about whether God is committed to a path before we step onto it.
We are indeed known as God’s own, His chosen people—because we have accepted the sacrifice of His Son on the cross of Calvary. However, it is not enough to merely acknowledge this truth while living in a way that excludes God from our daily decisions. He has called us to reveal His praise and glory wherever we go. As His holy people, we must fully yield to Him and refuse to take any step where He is not involved.
In our opening scripture, Moses speaks with the Lord, earnestly desiring that God Himself, not just an angel, would go with His people. He understood that their true identity as God’s chosen ones would only be evident if His presence remained with them. How else would the nations recognize them as distinct and favoured if God did not continue to lead them? At this time, Israel had been rebellious, leading to years of wandering in the wilderness. Now, as they prepared to move forward, Moses refused to advance without the certainty of God’s guidance.
This same assurance is what we must seek today. We must be deeply concerned about whether God is committed to a path before we step onto it. To venture into any endeavour without His presence is to expose ourselves to unnecessary struggles and dangers. Let Him be the one to lead, for in His presence lies our safety, our distinction, and our victory. I Pray for you today, that you will never take a step without Him that will lead to your destruction. Every step of your life will be guided by His love and promises, in Jesus name. Amen!
PRAYER:
Lord Jesus, I do not want to move without Your assured presence guiding me. Help me to always remember that You alone are the presence I need to advance and come through safely, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
