GOD’S LAW IN YOUR HEART

ISAIAH 51:7 “Hearken unto me, ye that know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law; fear ye not the reproach of men, neither be ye afraid of their revilings.”

KEYWORD: God made us with the intention that we would be forever just like Him. If He were not righteous Himself, He would have allowed us to live as we pleased.

When you read the opening scripture, have you ever asked yourself whether God sees you as someone who truly treasures His law in your heart? We all know that God loves us, cares for us, and desires the best for us. Yet, many fail to realize that His love and care are most clearly revealed through His Word. When we meditate on His Word, we discover our identity in Him–an identity designed to rule, reign, live in peace and victory, and walk in courage every single day. In fact, many of the prayers we have anxiously offered were unnecessary because we had not yet aligned our hearts with His law.
This means that we sometimes pray out of ignorance of God’s plans for us. We fail to root His Word in our hearts, so that we view every situation through the lens of His truth. Do you truly know righteousness? Have you ever wondered why God deemed it so important that He sent His Son to die, so that His righteousness could be imputed to us? God made us with the intention that we would be forever just like Him. If He were not righteous Himself, He would have allowed us to live as we pleased.
However, God knows that a life lived apart from His righteousness leads only to pain and regret. When He describes you as one who knows righteousness and bears His law in your heart, it is a bold declaration that you are living according to His perfect design. Furthermore, knowing His law allows you to fear no man’s revilings or reproaches. At this point, attacks directed at you are, in essence, directed at God Himself, because you reflect His image. He will stand for you because you have become exactly what He intended from the beginning–just like Him. Hallelujah!

PRAYER:
Today, Lord, I choose to know Your law intimately and walk in full awareness of the precious gift of righteousness You have given me. It is a joy to know that in doing so, I am pleasing You by living my life in the way You ordained. Thank You for being my strong defense and help against the wicked, in Jesus’ name.
