GALATIANS 1:10 “For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.”
KEYWORD: Guard your heart diligently and refuse to turn away from the Lord. Let your devotion remain fixed upon Him.
We have come into a season and dispensation where harlotry with the world and its idols is actively encouraged and celebrated. In fact, anyone who does not subscribe to the wave of immorality and spiritual compromise prevalent in our world is often considered naive and unprepared for reality. But what exactly is this reality they describe? A world ruled by ungodly desires where lustful pleasures are presented as the highest pursuit of life? God forbid! Satan, in seeking to corrupt a man’s heart and draw him into spiritual adultery, often begins by targeting whatever has captured that person’s attention and affection.
Are you someone who is so invested in doing what everyone else is doing simply because you do not want to feel left out? Do you feel pressured to conform to the standards of the world rather than the standards of God? If you find yourself desiring the approval of men more than the approval of God, then spiritual adultery is already seeking a place in your heart. At that point, it becomes easier for the enemy to suggest practices and compromises that are displeasing to God and contrary to His Word.
Consider the counsel Ahithophel gave to Absalom concerning David’s concubines. It was counsel that promoted rebellion, dishonour, and sin. Such actions stand completely opposed to God’s will and design. Throughout Scripture, God repeatedly warned His people not to imitate the sinful practices of the nations around them. When Israel entered Canaan, God commanded them to remain separate and holy unto Him. He understood that the turning away of the heart often begins with embracing the values, practices, and desires of a world that does not honour Him.
Today, guard your heart diligently and refuse to turn away from the Lord. Let your devotion remain fixed upon Him. Christ is the Head of the Church, and His place in our hearts must never be given to another. You were created to walk in holiness and fellowship with God. Therefore, reject every form of spiritual adultery and remain faithful to Him. Shalom!
PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, today I reject every form of spiritual adultery and every influence that seeks to draw my heart away from You. Fill me with a deeper love for Your presence and a stronger desire to please You above all else. Help me to remain faithful, devoted, and obedient to You in all things. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
