KEY SCRIPTURE: “Pray without ceasing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:17
KEYWORD: A prayer not done genuinely from the spirit of a man can’t bless anyone and can’t cause a change in the realm of the spirit.
Anytime we pray as Christians, we are catapulted to new realms of glory. Prayer builds spiritual stamina in you. You pray until you have lost the consciousness of the flesh and the presence of God has enveloped you. When you pray in faith, confidence is built in your spirit. Challenges melt like wax, and mountains bow in the place of prayer.
A prayer not done genuinely from the spirit of a man can’t bless anyone and can’t cause a change in the realm of the spirit. James 5:16-17 teaches us that the kind of prayer that changes things is heartfelt. When you come to God with all genuineness of heart, interceding fervently over an issue, or praying for men and the nations of the earth, the tremendous power of God will be so evident in your life to cause a change. Hallelujah!
Because of offence, so many people have pulled away from prayer -because of guilt or anger at God. Satan will do everything to discourage you from praying. He brings accusations and gives you every reason to stay away from the presence of God. Dearly beloved, that is when you should pray more. God is our healer, comforter, and restorer; He comforts us when we are depressed and discomforted and fills our minds with peace, wisdom and direction in days of trouble.
When it dawned on Jesus that it was time for Him to die, His heart became heavy and sad. He said in Matthew 26:38, “…My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even unto death….” What did He do? He went to God in prayer; for He knew that was the only place strength to pull through would come from. No matter what you are going through right now, get on your knees and pray to God. Allow Him to comfort you, remove those burdens and sorrows, and fill you with a new light. For in the presence of God is fullness of joy, peace, and comfort. Glory to God!
PRAYER:
Thank you, Lord, for I find peace, comfort, and fullness of joy in your presence. Thank you, Lord, for taking away all my sorrows and filling me with your peace and joy. Your presence is heaven to me, Lord, and that is where I want to be for the rest of my life.
