THE MINISTRY OF INTERCESSION

JAMES 5:16 “Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”

KEYWORD: The prayer of intercession is not about controlling people’s will, but about aligning circumstances with the perfect will and counsel of God.
One ministry that every believer has received is the ministry of intercession. Scripture reveals that we have been made kings and priests unto God (Revelation 1:6). As priests, we are called to stand in the gap as watchmen in prayer, for individuals, nations, and situations, aligning ourselves with the will of God and partnering with Him to see it established on the earth.
Simeon is a clear example of a man devoted to God’s promise. He lived a life of expectation and sensitivity to the Spirit, and by divine revelation, he knew he would not see death until he had seen the Lord’s Christ (Luke 2:25–35). His life reflects what it means to remain yielded and aligned with God’s prophetic agenda through patience, faith, and spiritual discernment.
The prayer of intercession is not about controlling people’s will, but about aligning circumstances with the perfect will and counsel of God. It is standing in the place of prayer to resist the works of darkness and to establish the purposes of God into manifestation. This kind of prayer requires sincerity, focus, and spiritual momentum and fervency. It goes beyond casual or routine prayers spoken without attention or depth. Intercession demands a heart that is present and yielded before God. As Jesus taught in Matthew 6:6, there is a place of separation where a man communes with the Father in secret, with sincerity and reverence.
This is the place where burdens are received, where the Spirit of God helps our infirmities (Romans 8:26), and where deep communion is built. Sometimes, it may involve waiting, praying in the Spirit, or travailing in prayer as the Spirit leads—not as a formula, but as an expression of yielded fellowship with God. This is the kind of prayer that brings alignment, strengthens the believer, and positions situations under God’s authority. It is through such fellowship that lives are impacted and God’s purposes are established on the earth. It is my desire that in this season, you grow in sensitivity to the Spirit and function effectively in the ministry of intercession. Shalom.

PRAYER:
Glory be to Your Holy Name in the highest! Thank You, faithful Father, for calling me into the priesthood ministry. I pray for the peace of all men and for the nations of the world, and that Your righteousness would continually be established, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

LUKE 18:6-8 “And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith. And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?”

1 TIMOTHY 2:1-2 “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.”
