Isaiah 54:17 “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD…”
KEYWORD: Victory is not ultimately determined by strategy alone, but by the hand of God upon a people.
Why did the attempts of Balaam to curse Israel not succeed? It was because Israel was a covenant people under the instruction and covering of God.
In the realm of spiritual reality, victory is not determined by competition or strength of human effort, but by alignment with God and obedience to His Word. The one who walks in covenant fellowship with God stands in divine covering. This is why obedience to God’s instructions is not a small matter. It positions a man under divine order and keeps him aligned with God’s purpose.
Book of Ecclesiastes 11:1 to 2 teaches us the principle of sowing and diligence, showing that consistent obedience and faithful action carry long term reward. In the same way, consistent obedience to God builds spiritual stability in a believer’s life. You may not always see the full picture of what God is protecting you from, but obedience keeps you within the place of divine covering. It aligns your life with God’s order and preserves you in ways you may not immediately recognize.
We see again in the case of Balaam that although altars were raised and efforts were made to influence outcomes spiritually, they could not override what God had already spoken concerning His people. Hallelujah. In Book of Ezekiel 21:21 to 22, we see the use of divination in attempts to determine battle outcomes. This reflects the reality that spiritual considerations were often part of ancient conflicts. Yet, the Scriptures consistently show that God remains sovereign over every outcome.
Victory is not ultimately determined by strategy alone, but by the hand of God upon a people. In Book of Judges 4:15, we see the Lord Himself intervening on behalf of Israel, bringing confusion into the camp of the enemy and securing victory for His people. This reveals a consistent principle in Scripture. When God is with a people, no opposing force can ultimately prevail against His purpose. Therefore, remain steadfast in your walk with God. Stay aligned with His Word. Let your confidence rest not in external systems, but in the covenant faithfulness of God. Shalom.
PRAYER:
Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for the principles You have established for my covering. I receive grace to walk in consistent obedience and covenant alignment, giving no room to the enemy in my life, in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
