“And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.”
KEYWORD: Know the Lord for yourself. Let your confidence in the Gospel be rooted in a personal revelation of Jesus Christ and not merely in what others have told you.
Christianity is not limited by human reasoning. If you believe that more than two thousand years ago Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, rose again on the third day, and later ascended into heaven, then why should it be difficult to believe in the miraculous works of God today? The Gospel itself is built upon supernatural truths that cannot be explained by human wisdom alone.
It is not surprising when an unbeliever questions these things because the natural man cannot understand spiritual realities. However, when someone professes to be a believer yet continually questions whether God can still heal, deliver, or perform miracles, it is worth asking whether that person truly understands the supernatural foundation of the Christian faith. Hebrews 11:3 declares, “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.” The very creation of the universe was accomplished by God’s spoken Word without human effort or natural processes.
It is heartbreaking to see how spiritually blind many have become today. The same God who created the heavens and the earth still works powerfully among His people. If we believe in the virgin birth of Christ, His death, His resurrection, and His ascension into heaven, then we should not struggle to believe that He is still able to work wonders according to His will. The virgin birth itself cannot be explained by biological reasoning. This reminds us that Christianity is founded upon divine revelation and faith, not merely upon human understanding.
First Corinthians 2:14 tells us, “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” Therefore, settle your heart in what you believe. Know the Lord for yourself. Let your confidence in the Gospel be rooted in a personal revelation of Jesus Christ and not merely in what others have told you. As you continue to grow in His Word, your faith will become firmly established, and you will stand unshaken in every season. Hallelujah!
PRAYER:
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for opening my eyes to the truth of Your Word. Deliver me from every form of unbelief and strengthen my faith in the supernatural realities of the Gospel. Help me to know You personally and to remain firmly established in Your truth as I grow into spiritual maturity. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
