KEYWORD: When your heart is filled with God’s Word, His Word begins to paint the right picture within you.
God comes into your life by His Spirit to transform the way you see. Before your life changes outwardly, your vision must first change inwardly. Whenever you hear words, you do not simply hear sounds. Words produce pictures, and those pictures shape the vision of your heart.
This is why God asked Adam, “Who told thee that thou wast naked?” (Genesis 3:11). Adam’s perception changed because of what he listened to. God wanted Adam to understand that what he had received had altered the way he now saw himself. The question is, what words are shaping your vision today?
A man cannot consistently rise above the vision he carries in his heart. You cannot go beyond your vision. You cannot grow beyond your vision. You cannot accomplish beyond your vision. This is why the words you continually receive are so important. Jesus said, “The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life” (John 6:63). When your heart is filled with God’s Word, His Word begins to paint the right picture within you. That picture builds faith, direction and focus to keep moving forward.
Whenever God visits a man, He gives him His Word to create vision in that man’s heart. Then He brings him to the point where he must see what God is saying. This was exactly what happened to Jeremiah. Jeremiah 1:11 “Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Jeremiah, what seest thou? And I said, I see a rod of an almond tree.”
Notice that after God spoke, He asked Jeremiah what he saw. It is important that you see what God is saying to you. When your heart agrees with God’s vision, you are positioned to walk confidently in His purpose. A focused believer is one who continually allows God’s Word to shape what he sees. Again, Jeremiah 1:12 says “Then said the LORD unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it.”
The word hasten means to watch over or bring to pass speedily. God told Jeremiah that because he had seen correctly, He Himself would bring His Word to fulfilment. How much of what God has been speaking to you have you truly seen? As you continue to behold His Word, your focus will become clearer, your faith will become stronger and you will walk confidently in the direction He has prepared for you. Hallelujah!
PRAYER:
Dear heavenly Father, I thank You for Your Word that continually shapes my vision and aligns my heart with Your purpose. Open my eyes to see what You are saying in every season of my life. I receive the grace to remain focused and to walk in the fulfilment of every assignment You have prepared for me in Jesus mighty name. Amen.
