PREPARED FOR HIS COMING (III)

1 CORINTHIANS 15:52 “In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.”

KEYWORD: The Lord desires a people who are spiritually alert, burning with love for Him, and ready for His appearing at all times.

In the previous devotional, we emphasized that salvation through Jesus Christ is the foundation of the believer’s hope in the rapture. But beyond being born again, every believer must also remain spiritually awake and fervent in prayer and fellowship with God.
When I speak about spiritual readiness, I am not referring to how many years a person has spent in church or how long ago they gave their life to Christ. The question is: are you truly walking with the Lord daily? Are you alive in your spirit and responsive to His leading?
Romans 12:11 “Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord.” Many believers have become spiritually passive. Their love for prayer has weakened, their sensitivity to God’s voice has reduced, and obedience to divine instruction has become inconsistent. Yet Scripture warns us against spiritual lukewarmness.
Revelation 3:16 “So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.” A believer who continually ignores the leading of the Holy Spirit gradually weakens spiritual sensitivity. This is why fellowship with God matters deeply. The more you walk with Him daily, the more your heart remains tender toward His voice and His ways.
It is similar to someone asking God for direction in major decisions while ignoring Him in everyday matters. Spiritual sensitivity is built through daily communion, obedience, and consistency with the Lord.
This is why every believer must remain watchful in prayer, in the Word, and in fellowship with the Holy Spirit. The Lord desires a people who are spiritually alert, burning with love for Him, and ready for His appearing at all times. May our hearts remain fervent and steadfast in the Lord. Amen.

PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, keep my heart burning for You. Help me to remain spiritually sensitive, obedient, and steadfast in fellowship with the Holy Spirit. Let my life continually reflect readiness for Your appearing, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
