1 THESSALONIANS 4:17 “Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”

KEYWORD: As believers our hearts should continually burn with love for the Lord and with a desire to see others come into His Kingdom.

There is no running away from the reality of the rapture, whether a person believes in it or not. The Scriptures clearly declare that there is coming a day when the saints of God shall be caught up to meet the Lord in the air. This event is not a human idea but a divine promise given to the Church.

In the opening scripture, Paul speaks of those who are alive and remain at the coming of the Lord. His primary emphasis is on believers who are still living on the earth when Christ returns, in contrast to those believers who have already died and will be raised first. This truth should awaken every believer to live with a consciousness of the Lord’s return.

While the scripture is not teaching that only the most active believers will be caught up, it does remind us that God’s people are called to live in expectation of His coming. A believer who truly believes the Lord is returning will not live carelessly. Such a person will desire to walk closely with God, remain faithful to His Word, and stay committed to the work of the Kingdom.

The Church must never become comfortable with spiritual lukewarmness. We are called to be vibrant in our walk with God, active in our faith, and passionate about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our hearts should continually burn with love for the Lord and with a desire to see others come into His Kingdom.

Scripture also reveals that there will be great darkness and wickedness in the earth as God’s prophetic timetable unfolds. This is one reason believers must remain watchful and spiritually prepared. The Lord desires a people whose hearts are fixed on Him and whose lives reflect His nature.

God is not asking you to abandon your responsibilities or withdraw from daily life. Rather, He is calling you to live every day with readiness. Be diligent in prayer. Be steadfast in the Word. Be faithful in your service to God. Let your heart remain on fire for Him continually.

As a believer, have you made it a matter of prayer to remain spiritually alert and devoted to the Lord? The coming of Christ is nearer than when many first believed. Therefore, prepare your heart daily and live with the expectation of seeing your Lord and Maker. Shalom.

PRAYER:
Dear Heavenly Father, I open my heart to You afresh today. Fill me continually with Your Spirit and help me to walk in Your will. Let Your Word and Your Spirit keep my heart burning with love and devotion for You. May I remain watchful, faithful, and prepared for the coming of the Lord. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
