KEYWORD: Whenever God desires to bring a man into a higher level of truth and purpose, He first enlarges that man’s vision through His Word.
A man who wants to make the most of his life should not simply be driven by goals, although having goals is important. More importantly, he must focus on becoming. There must be a transformation in his mind concerning the areas in which he desires advancement, accomplishment, and increase.
Genesis 13:14 and 15 says, “And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.”
Whenever God desires to bring a man into a higher level of truth and purpose, He first enlarges that man’s vision through His Word. Before God changes a person’s circumstances, He changes the way that person thinks. If you want to move from one level of glory to another, the transformation must begin in your mind. Becoming must come before achieving. When your mind is renewed, your approach to life, business, marriage, ministry, career, and every other area of life will also change, producing lasting results.
To make the most of your time, you must also examine your personal philosophy. By this, I mean the way you think, reason, and process life. What kind of thoughts occupy your mind? Which thoughts do you entertain and permit to remain? The thoughts you consistently embrace will determine whether the goals you have set for yourself will ever become a reality.
You must continually expose yourself to the right information, both spiritually and professionally, that will move you from where you are to where God desires you to be. Above all, let the Word of God renew your mind as you study and meditate on it. As His light shines into your heart, begin to evaluate your purpose, your plans, and your goals. Ask yourself honestly, “How far have I progressed in the direction of God’s purpose for my life? Am I making the most of every opportunity He has given me?” Scripture instructs us to live purposefully, wisely, and accurately because the days are evil. Make up your mind today to redeem every opportunity God places before you. Shalom!
PRAYER:
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for renewing my mind through the power of Your Word. Let Your truth continually reshape my thinking and align my heart with Your purpose for my life. Help me to make the most of every opportunity You give me and to walk wisely, purposefully, and accurately in every season. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
