REVELATION 17:8 “The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.”
KEYWORD: The greatest miracle in a believer’s life is not merely answered prayer, healing, or material blessings. The greatest miracle is salvation.
The Scripture above says, “whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world.” Whenever the Bible speaks of something being established from the foundation of the world, it points us to God’s eternal knowledge and sovereign purpose. Nothing takes God by surprise. He knows the end from the beginning and His plans stand forever.
One of the truths revealed in this passage is that there is a clear distinction between those who belong to God and those who reject Him. During the reign of the Beast, many will be amazed and deceived by his power and influence. However, those whose names are written in the Book of Life are called to remain faithful to God regardless of the pressures around them.
Revelation 13:8 says, “And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.” This reveals the importance of salvation through Jesus Christ. The Lamb’s Book of Life speaks of those who have received the gift of salvation through faith in Christ and have identified with Him as Lord and Saviour.
The greatest miracle in a believer’s life is not merely answered prayer, healing, or material blessings. The greatest miracle is salvation. This is why Jesus told His disciples in Luke 10:20 not to rejoice merely because spirits were subject to them, but rather because their names were written in heaven. Our confidence must always rest in the finished work of Christ and the assurance of eternal life through Him.
As believers, we must live daily with gratitude for the salvation we have received. Let your heart remain steadfast in the Lord. Continue in faith, obedience, and devotion to Christ. The world may be filled with deception and darkness, but those who belong to the Lord have a glorious inheritance prepared for them. Rejoice continually because your name is written in heaven. Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for the salvation of my soul through Jesus Christ. Thank You for calling me into Your kingdom and giving me the hope of eternal life.
