The feeling of bondage to addiction or sinful habits can become a heavy torment in the life of a believer. God understands how the mind of a man can become a battlefield when Satan constantly uses guilt, shame, and condemnation against him. This is why God desires His children to come into the understanding of the Word of His grace, which brings liberty and restoration.
God does not want you to live condemnation conscious. He wants you to become Word conscious and grace conscious. This consciousness opens your eyes to the ability of God at work within you and empowers you to rise above sin and every habit that seeks to keep you bound.
Some people misunderstand the message of grace and think it gives liberty to continue in sin. But true grace does the opposite. It reveals the power of God available to deliver a man from bondage and to strengthen him to walk in righteousness.
In many cases, addiction grows deeper because a person becomes trapped in guilt and hopelessness. The enemy begins to convince them that they can never truly change or receive help from God. This is one of Satan’s greatest weapons against believers. He wants them to remain in fear, shame, and spiritual defeat.
But this is not the mind of God toward you. The fact that your conscience still longs for freedom and righteousness is proof that God is still dealing with your heart. What God wants to remove is the torment and bondage that condemnation brings, because Jesus Christ already paid the price for your freedom through His death and resurrection.
John 5:24 “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.” Jesus said the one who hears and believes His Word shall not come into condemnation. Imagine then what happens when the Word of God becomes your daily lifestyle and meditation. The Word of His grace has power to renew your mind, strengthen your spirit, and bring you into true liberty. Hallelujah!
PRAYER:
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for the fact that the conscience of my heart is alive unto you, because you have implanted the heart of your Spirit in me, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
